The Whisper Cape Trilogy Blog Tour

Celebrating the end of a trilogy is bittersweet. I love all the characters in the Whisper Cape series, but Cael and Addison own my heart and always will. Without them, I don't think I would have become an author. At least not a published one. A Secret Fate, book three is now available.

A Steamy Paranormal Romance/Suspense

5 Stars Phenomenal Book!!! Top Pick Review
- Night Owl Reviews

A powerful woman, an extraordinary man, and a maniac who wants to destroy them. Fate has brought them together, but will it make them stronger or destroy them all in end?

Escape to a world where the impossible becomes possible and sparks ignite.

WHISPER CAPE is a town of secrets and Addison MacKenna soon becomes tangled in a web of them. Plagued with nightmares of her father's sudden and brutal death, Addie struggles with her anguish and refuses to believe his demise was accidental.

Fighting to shake off one of those devastating early morning nightmares, Addison finds it even harder to escape from the vision of a man lying on the side of the road--a man she may have just killed. When she frantically tries to locate him, he seemingly disappears, just the beginning of strange occurrences in her life. She also cannot ignore the weird sensations in her own body. Suddenly, the impossible seems possible, but is that a blessing or a curse?

Believing that her continual and worsening nightmares are both the key to her own new abilities and the clue to her father's death, Addie knows she will not rest until she has the answers she craves. As she strives to cope with her new remarkable talents, someone else learns of her abilities--a disgruntled maniacal psychopath with his own agenda that involves eliminating Addie. The only one who can protect her, instruct her in the use of her powers and teach her how to destroy the murderous monster is the same man who makes Addie's heart race and her blood heat with passion. The same man she'd left for dead.

Cael Sheridan may be arrogant and mysterious but he's also undeniably gorgeous. A member of a secret society, he is sworn to protect the woman he believes to be the daughter of his recently murdered mentor. In the process, he finds it impossible to resist her magnetic sensuality, complicating his efforts to shield and guide her as she learns to manage her newly acquired skills. At the same time, Addison has much to teach him about trust and commitment. Will fate win in the end? You be the judge.

Review for Whisper Cape:
I have to start out by saying, I LOVE THIS BOOK!! Whisper Cape is so astonishing with characters that are lovable and well developed. I can't brag enough about author Susan Griscom. This book grabbed my attention from the moment I picked it up and I just couldn't put it down. If you are a fan of paranormal romance, you have to read this book!

Addison MacKenna moves back to Whisper Cape after her father dies. She has continued nightmares of his death and has a gut feeling he has been murdered. Worry ensues her when she fears she may have accidentally ran a man over and killed him. Sudden abilities and strange occurrences leave her searching for answers.

Cael Sheridan *sigh* is an angry and sometimes arrogant private investigator. He has been sent to find the daughter of his murdered mentor. Meeting Addison proves to be challenging for him. He is torn between keeping his distance in order to protect her from the evil that hunts her or seducing her. One of my favorite quotes, "He wanted to make love to her right there, but his sudden desire to protect her took over." I love this man!

Watching the story unfold with the added chemistry between Addison and Cael kept me begging for more. Cael is everything you could ever want in a man. Handsome, strong ,protective, sexy...shall I go on? Check Whisper Cape out, you will not be disappointed!

Reflections (Whisper Cape book 2)
Publication Date: October 8, 2012

Book 2 in the Steamy Paranormal Romance/Suspense, Whisper Cape Series
What if you heard a voice whispering warnings while you coped with a frightening pregnancy?
Knowing the future has its advantages...or does it?
Can love survive the reflections and memories lost?
Welcome to Maia's world.
Gerry has loved Maia from the very first moment he laid eyes on her and now that she's pregnant with his child, he's over the moon with happiness. Likewise, Maia is overjoyed about having Gerry's baby, but when she starts seeing and hearing an old woman who warns Maia about the pregnancy, Maia starts to think she is losing her mind. But Maia's nightmare has only just begun...

A beautiful woman, the talented lead singer in an up and coming rock band, sets her sights on Gerry determined to rekindle an old flame. But murder befalls the sleepy town of Whisper Cape once again, creating suspicion and betrayal, and a love once considered invincible, begins to crumble and fall apart.

Excerpt from Reflections:

Gerry sat up and rubbed his shoulder. “Thanks, Addie.” He followed her gaze to the place where they had last seen Cael. It pained him, but finally he said, “Addie. Maybe he can’t get back.”

“You don’t think Finn shot him, do you? Cael is strong.”

Gerry shook his head but wasn’t sure if she noticed. “No.”

“Once he got him away from here, I’m sure he used his skills,” she said. “I mean, Cael could take Finn in a fight anytime.”

“He might not be able to come back.” Gerry brushed a strand of hair out of Addie’s face.

“What? What do you mean?” She stood and Gerry got up with her. He moaned a little from the pain and stood next to her.

“I don’t think he got shot. I’m not sure exactly what happened to Cael. When the bullet hit me, I lost balance. He might have received some of my …”

“What? No!” Her face paled and she fought to take in air.

“Breathe,” he said, stroking her back as Maia walked up and stood by her other side.

“I don’t understand.” Her voice was barely a whisper. She walked to where Cael had wrestled with Finn. “What sort of memory were you sending?”

“That’s the problem.” Gerry shook his head. He didn’t want to have to tell Addie that she might never see Cael again.

Review for Reflections:
OMG I did not see that ending coming. No way!! I need to know what happens next. My heart feels like it has been ripped out of my chest. What an awesome book! I absolutely love Whisper Cape and Reflections is now on my favorites list. I love that Cael and Addison are in this book and continue to play a huge role in the series. (Cael...Swoon)

In Reflections Maia and Gerry are front and center. We discover more about their relationship and how strong their love truly is when Gerry's evil, troublemaking ex girlfriend comes to town. I have to say, I wanted to smack this woman and make her leave town. I found myself fuming at her transparent tricks to try to belittle Maia and get Gerry Back. I do not like this woman at all. Anyway, with that being said, Gerry and Maia find themselves expecting not one baby but two babies. Maia starts hearing voices and seeing an old woman that no on else can see. This is only the beginning. This book has mystery that draws you in right from the start, hot steamy scenes and paranormal powers. Oh and did I mention Gerry is from Scotland and has a sexy accent? What more could you ask for?

Reflections is an awesome continuation of the Whisper Cape Series. I love this series so much. I highly recommend Whisper Cape (book 1) and Reflections (book 2) to anyone 18+ that loves a good paranormal romance. Awesome book Susan Griscom!!!

A Secret Fate (Whisper Cape book 3)
Publication Date: October 31, 2013

Description:
"Well, fate was cruel, wasn't it?"

Cael and Addison’s fate has taken an unexpected turn.

Gerry, Addie and Cael almost captured Careen’s murderer only to lose Cael in the battle—a battle that nearly cost him his life. But despite his survival, he faces a new challenge, thanks to Gerry's handiwork: will Cael remember Addie or is their love lost with him?

Addie’s family and friends think she should keep the relationship a secret from Cael so he isn't forced into feelings he can't remember. Just what she needs, more secrets and on top of everything else, someone stole the crystal. How is she supposed to get over the loss of her lover, a lover she'd barely had for only a few short months and deal with the secret of the lost crystal at the same time?

Aiden wants nothing more than to help Addie overcome her grief and get over Cael. Or is that all he wants? What happens when too many people know the secret and someone slips up?

Teaser Excerpt from A Secret Fate

He lay half on top of her, their legs tangled together on the sofa as their rapid heartbeats slowly returned to normal. He didn’t want to move or let her go, but he’d have to. He needed to get up and leave. How would he ever look Aiden in the eye again? What a mess he’d gotten himself into this time.

She sighed. “That was amazing.” Resting her head on his chest, she leaned her face to his and kissed him, gently, softly, then closed her eyes and rested her head. They stayed that way, silent, for a while.

About Susan
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, spending most of my time daydreaming or playing around in the mud. I grew out of the mud play, well, most of the time, a good soak in the mud is always fun. I still daydream often and sometimes my daydreams interrupt my daydreams. So I write to remember them. If I didn't write, I think my mind would explode from an overload of fantasy and weirdness. To the annoyance of my friends and family, my characters sometimes become a part of my world. During my childhood, I would frequently get in trouble in school for daydreaming. Eventually, my vivid imagination paid off and I had the privilege of writing and co-directing my sixth-grade class play—a dreadful disaster, though not from my writing, of course. I'm pretty sure it was the acting.

I enjoy writing about characters living in small quaint towns and tend to lean toward the unusual and edgy.

My paranormal playing field delves into a different milieu, abandoning vampires and werewolves, but not discounting them. Someday I might like to write a novel about vamps and those furry creatures. But for now I like the bizarre mixed with romance. A strong hero or heroine confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and capabilities gets my blood running hot as does an steamy contemporary romantic suspense.

Review: Winter Rayne- J.M. Zuniga

Summary: What happens when an ordinary life becomes an extraordinary one? Winter Rayne thought she lived a somewhat normal teenage life, except for the teasing due to her father's outbursts of rage. Then, one day, she discovers her entire life has been a sham and she's not sure who she can trust. To make matters worse, she finds out the truth of her origins and is tossed into a world where she must fight for her very existence. Join the world of the Praestes and the Malfaisants and discover an entire world you may never have known existed. It will make you question if there is really a life beyond the one you already know.Title: Winter Rayne Author: J.M. Zuniga Pages: 305 Rating: 4/5 Stars Review: Winter Rayne was this weeks Book of the Week; by one of my fave indie authors J.M. Zuniga, in a book club/ group I am in. This is not the first book that I have read by her and it definitely won't be the last. I loved the OBE's (out if body experiences) as the focal point for the storyline. I found it extremely original I have never read another book about them. I liked how the story dealt with both real and paranormal situations. I do wish we had learned more about the Praestes and Malficants. Also there were some Spanish words and phases that I had no idea what they said so I wish a glossary had been included. I enjoyed Winter Rayne's character and I like how the author was able to make me connect with her and feel sorry for her at the same time. I feel like her upbringing was very rough, mostly due to her asshat father. Plus her mom made me mad because she let him treat her daughter like that. I found there to be a kind of love triangle happening and Rayne finally made a decision but I feel like it was the wrong one lol. Travis is a strange character for me because I kept getting this weird vibe from him and I'm not sure why. I am really hoping that in the next book we will get to meet Rayne's father, he plays such a huge role. Winter Rayne is another amazing book that J.M. Zuniga has put out there and I'm really excited for the next instalment. Also I would love a book of the letters that Rayne's father sent her, I'm nosy and I want to know what they say. I would recommend this story and also J.M. Zuniga's other series to those looking for original reads.

BLURB

Seventeen-year-old Mackenzie Smith is sent away to spend a boring summer at her grandma's. But then she meets Wesley. He tells her exactly what she wants to hear and has information about her past that no one else knows. It's almost like he can read her mind.

Only Wesley isn't who he seems.

By the time Mackenzie discovers his true identity it may be too late. She's in too deep and he won't let her go. Now Mackenzie must call on the strongest power of all in order to save her life.

EXCERPT

“Hello Kenzie.”

He turned toward me. I gasped in horror. He was faceless. His face was a black hole with no eyes, nose or mouth, like a shadow. Was this what ghosts looked like? I thought for sure they’d be white like in the movies. “Oh, I’m sorry,” he said. “Is this better?”

His face transformed before my eyes. Black turned into peach colored flesh. It stretched and bent to reveal a cartilage filled nose. Two eyes popped out, and ears broke through the side of his head. Lips, hair, a body, and clothes appeared. My mouth dropped open, and hung loosely as if it had come unhinged. I slapped my hand over it to keep from screaming.

“You don’t need to scared,” he said.

“How did you do that?”

“You think that’s amazing? I can do much more than that.”

I nodded, taking a deep breath. “I think that’s enough for me right now.” He moved toward me, crawling stealthily on the bed like a cat. I moved away from him until I was pinned against the wall. He smiled, revealing blood red gums and a perfect row of white teeth. His pupils were black, and the whites were filled with spidery red and purple veins. My body shook.

“Why are you scared, Kenzie? Don’t you recognize me?”

BLURB

Mackenzie returns home from the summer with her grandma, certain that Wesley is out of her life for good. Until the nightmares resurface, and strange things start to happen. Is Wesley back? When the danger escalates and threatens those closest to her, Mackenzie must fight to save them. Only this time the evil is more powerful, and Mackenzie is faced with an impossible decision.

EXCERPT

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” I asked Tanner as I stared down at the foamy rush of water.

“Breathtaking.”

I glanced up at Tanner who was staring right at me with a look so intense it caused heat to rise up my neck and spill across my cheeks. Taking a deep breath, I averted my gaze. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone with the intention of taking a couple photos.

“So, you’re calling him, huh?” I tried to ignore the jealousy in Tanner’s voice; tried to tell myself it was just a figment of my imagination. I wanted to believe that Tanner only thought of me as a friend, and that he supported my relationship with Isaac. But deep down I knew that wasn’t true.

I shook my head. “No, I was just going to take some pictures.”

Relief swept over his features. He beamed at me. “Here, let me.” He grabbed the phone from my hand. Holding it out in front of us, he pressed his cheek to mine and snapped a shot. He was so close I could smell his aftershave lotion, and the sweat on his skin. My pulse quickened. My heart pounded in my chest. He turned to me, his face inches from mine.

I froze, unable to move or even breathe. His face came closer and somewhere in the back of my mind, alarm bells went off. I knew I should step back, or push him away. But my feet stayed rooted to the ground, like I was a tree on the mountain, a permanent fixture. I could hear the blood rushing through my ears, feel the beating of my heart. The world around us stopped. It was as if we were the only people up here. Tanner’s eyes stared into mine. I swallowed hard, and kept my gaze even.

BLURB

Mackenzie is looking forward to her eighteenth birthday and upcoming high school graduation. Until an unwelcome visitor from her past appears, threatening her future plans. Will she ever be free? Armed with a new weapon and the boy she loves by her side, Mackenzie prepares to fight. She doesn't realize that she is about to step into the ultimate battle between good and evil, where the stakes are higher than ever before.

EXCERPT

“What was that about?” Isaac asked when we got inside the house.

“What?”

“The way you said hi to your neighbor and then started looking in another direction and said hi again in a weird voice.”

“Oh.” I smiled.

“That’s just how I talk to kids.”

“Why did you do it right now though?” His brows furrowed in a look of utter confusion.

I was starting to get annoyed with this line of questioning. Can’t I say hi to a neighbor boy without getting the third degree? So what if I use an odd voice when talking to kids. Lots of people do. “Cause I was saying hi to the little boy.”

“What little boy?”

Cold slithered up my spine at Isaac’s tone. “The boy sitting next to Mrs. Kelley in the front yard.”

“There was no boy with her.”

I flung open the front door and raced outside, my heart thumping in my chest. Was I going crazy? I was sure I saw a little boy.

Relief flooded me at the sight of the child still sitting in the grass. I gave Isaac a triumphant look. “See. Right there.”

Isaac narrowed his eyes, staring in the direction I pointed. I expected an apology. Instead, he said, “Are you okay?”

“Fine. Why are you acting so weird?”

“Because there is no little boy there.” A chill brushed over my body, causing goose bumps to rise on my flesh. I glanced back at Mrs. Kelley who kept weeding, oblivious to our conversation. She also seemed not to notice the child, even though he practically sat on her legs. The boy’s neck craned to look at me, but he still didn’t smile.

Fearful, I raced back in my house. Why did I see him if no one else did? Who was he? And what was he doing next door?

Title: Riley's Secret
Author: Christina Smith
Pages: Rating: 4/5 Stars Review:  I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This was the Book of the Month in my goodreads group Reading For Fun. I just finished reading the prequel Riley's Curse and I loved it. I was excited to start this book because I was so drawn into the prequel. I also love the cover. I like do his story as well I was just missing the old world charm that the novella had. I did like that this book read fairly quickly and there was enough action and romance to keep me interested. I still really enjoyed these characters and I'm glad that Nate finally told Megan the truth. Also I'm glad that Megan made new friends, unfortunately her parents are assholes and you can't pick your family. I really want to learn me about Joe and Lauren and most importantly Mona. I want her story. Is she who she says she is?? Overall this was a great start to the series and I'm very excited to read the rest of the books. I really enjoyed Christina Smith's writing and I will be checking out her other series as well. This is another book I would recommend to werewolf lovers.

Find out how it all changed in just one moment.Title: Riley's Curse Author: Christina Smith Pages: 115 Rating:  5/5 Stars Review:  I grabbed this novella awhile ago, number one because it was free and number two it is about werewolves. I hadn't had a chance to read it until my goodreads group Reading For Fun had feature Book one Riley's Secret as our book of the month for October. This gave me the perfect opportunity to delve into this short story and I'm glad I did. I found it to be a quick and easy read and I was hooked from the first sentence. I loved all the background that this book was made up of. If I had read the full length novel first this would have been all the info I would be craving. I also loved the historical setting and how the author was able to describe it. I really enjoyed the characters. They all grew on me although some not for long. I don't like the bad guy because I feel like as far as we know the only reason he is out for blood is because he is an ass. He has no actual reason. I also enjoyed Nathaniel's parents. Mostly because how often do you see people's parents who know about them being a supernatural creature and who would also support them if they did find out. All in all, this was a great prequel filled with actions and romance. It also has a great story line and gave us backstory on the characters. I will definitely be carrying on with this series. I would recommend this story to werewolf lovers.

Review: Forever- Karen Kincel

Summary:  Jessica has the perfect life. Wonderful husband, two beautiful boys, a fairytale existence. In a moment, everything changes. To make matters worse, a stalker will stop at nothing to get to her. Can she stop him before it's too late? Title: Forever Author: Karen Kincel Pages: 254 Rating: 4/5 Stars Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I don't usually read adult books, but when I do I love the suspense/ thriller type and Forever was just that. This was a book that I could fly through with my heart beating out if my chest the whole time. I really enjoyed both the romance and the heartbreak surrounding this story. The only part I had a hard time with was the spirit. I just found that part unrealistic and that the story could have done without it. Otherwise I really loved this book. I feel in love with these characters. The author gave just enough for you to fall in love with them and then she ripped them away. I was rooting for Jessica the whole time and I was glad when she could finally be happy. The stalker was so evil. He gave me the creeps right from the get to. I loved how we got his perspective as well as Jessica's. I would have liked more of his backstory. Overall I loved this book! It was almost perfect in my eyes. I would recommend this novel to those looking for an edge of their seat read. I will definitely be reading more by this author.

The Secret of Ella and Micha: A rule-breaker with a fiery attitude, Ella always wore her heart on her sleeve. Then she left everything behind to go to college, where she transformed into someone who follows the rules, keeps everything together, and hides all her problems. Now it's summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home. But once there, Ella fears that everything she's worked so hard to bury might resurface-especially with Micha living right next door.

Smart, sexy, and confident, Micha can get under Ella's skin like no one else. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. If he tries to tempt the old Ella to return, he will be impossible to resist. But what Ella doesn't realize is that when she left, she took a piece of Micha's heart with her. Now he's determined to win back the girl he lost, no matter what it takes.

The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden

Blurb:

For Kayden, suffering in silence was the only way to survive. If he was lucky, he could keep his head down, do as he was told, and make it through the day. But one night it seemed like his luck-and his life-might finally end . . . until an angel named Callie appeared just in time to rescue him.

Callie has never believed in luck. Not since her twelfth birthday when everything was taken from her. After the worst was over, she locked up her feelings and vowed never to tell anyone what happened. Now, six years later, she continues to struggle with the painful secret that threatens to consume her.

When fate lands Kayden and Callie at the same college, Kayden is determined to get to know the beautiful girl who changed his destiny. Quiet and reserved, Callie still fears letting anyone else into her world. But Kayden is certain that Callie has come back into his life for a reason. And the more he tries to be a part of her life, the more he realizes that, this time, it's Callie who needs to be saved . . .

Cami's been paying better attention to what hides beneath the eye candy on her seemingly idyllic home, trying to make sense of the new threats to her friends and family. Massive storms have come to Pinhold, flooding the Island in a way not seen in generations. They leave behind destruction and the Red Tide, which lends the Island an eerie glow, makes the air itch and people's eyes burn.  Through it all, Cami and Blake are working hard to repair their relationship, Mica is attempting to trust the grown ups on island, Shay is worried she'll never swim again and everyone is tying to re-focus on the Surf Carnival and training for The Guard.

But the threats to Pinhold from the sky don't compare to the danger that still hides beneath the waves. Can Cami and The Guard find the cause in time to reset the pin, or will they suffer damages that can never be reversed?

Not only with the ones they believe have set out to destroy them, but also with themselves and each other. A shock revelation throws the group into confusion, torn between what each of them think is right and wrong. Keira now has to make a hard choice – does she stay with the people she loves, and fight with them – Or does she leave them, join forces with the person they originally thought was heartless, cold and brutal, but in fact, is doing something she actually agrees with. Something that could benefit and comfort almost every person who has ever lived. Revelations will take you to a place you never could have imagined existed. Heart-wrenching passion, death-defying friendship, treachery and pain, mixed with extreme battles, powerful magic and self-belief, make for an unbelievable climax that will stay with you until the end of time.
Excerpt from Revelations:
Eligos lowered his head, and a moment later his swords appeared. I looked quickly at Keira. I could have sworn that for a brief second I saw a rush of panic cross her eyes.
“Your mind is set then?” he asked her.
“It is.”
“You said you would stay with me, that you would love me forever; I didn’t realize forever came with an expiration date.”
“I gave you the chance to come with me, to stay by my side, but you refused. You let me go alone.”
Keira, please don’t do this,” Lucian and Tyler begged.
“I’m not doing anything; I’m simply standing here.”
“This is the way it has to be,” Eligos said in a bitterly cold tone, stepping closer toKeira and raising his swords.
“No, no please…please KeiraEligos, please no,” Lily cried, attempting to run towards them. Danny and Hecate took hold of her and she fought to no avail to get free.
Eligos was only a few feet away from Keira now, and she stepped forward from the car. Her eyes were glowing the brightest of blue. Just when I thought nothing else could surprise me, Keira spoke.
Eligos, I’ve already torn your heart apart; don’t let your body and soul suffer the same fate,” she taunted.
I heard some of the others gasp in shock. How could she be so cold towards someone she was supposed to have loved? This was not the person we had grown to love…this was not the Keira we all adored.
Author Bio:
I have lived in Droylsden, Manchester, all my life. I live with my parents, my younger sister, Cheryl, and her little girl, Faith.
I never knew what I wanted to do with my life until I began writing. This is my dream. I get most of my inspiration from music, I’ll sit listening to it and suddenly I’m no longer in the room. My stories play like videos in my mind, then I go and write them down.
I'm a very dark person, I love anything spooky, supernatural, or unexplainable, and so that’s the genre I want to write in for the rest of my life.
I work as a freelance graphic artist. I help my own publisher from time to time (World Castle Publications), I'm down as an available illustrator for Crooked Cat Publishing, and have recently been working with Empire Voices, creating the paperback and audio covers for their "Classics" line. I also create promo art and even book trailers. You can find out more about my art by clicking here.
Scary films are a true love of mine, although I find it very hard to find one these days that actually frightens me. My favourite story of all time is Bram Stoker's, Dracula. The movie is equally as amazing. I also love, The Crow, Constantine and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
