Jumping Puddles by Rachael Brownell

Jumping Puddles by Rachael Brownell
I cannot express how deeply this book touched my heart.  I can't seem to get the story out of my head and heart.  I just had to share my review with you.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My intentions when I started Jumping puddles was to read a few chapters, go to bed and then pick it up in the morning. Well this book is meant to be devoured in one sitting and that's exactly what I did.

I fell in love with Charlotte and Blake immediately. The way the author wrote their story from their very first meeting, through their teen years and all the way to the present allowed me to feel the deep bond they had formed and to feel connected to them. I laughed with them, got upset with them and cried like a baby with them. The unwavering loyalty & friendship these two had gripped my heart and wouldn't let go. I went through quite a few tissues and honestly my heart still aches. This story is powerful and I feel a book hangover to be unbeaten by any other to date, but it was so worth it.

Rachael Brownell you have ripped my heart to shreads, but also made me think about every day bumps in the road in a new way. I love your use of jumping puddles as a metaphor for lifes challenges. It is so beautifully poetic and creates a visual from my childhood that resonates deeply. I don't think I will ever look at a puddle in the same way.

I highly recommend Jumping Puddles by Rachael Brownell but be warned tissues will be needed. Beautiful and heartfelt from beginning to end.

"For every storm that passed, we found ourselves searching for rainbows and jumping in puddles."

One of my favorite quotes:
"No, I'm sick of jumping over puddles, Charlie.  It's time we start jumping in them together."
