Book Blurb:

My life has never been perfect. I lost, I lied, I cried. But there was one thing that I thought would stay with me forever — my love…

Adrian was my everything. The day he died, I died with him. It was like being caught up in a nightmare, with no reason to keep breathing, with nothing to hold on to.

But one day, everything changed. I didn’t know I was lost until the moment Nic found me. He made me laugh, he made me feel, he made me believe that I could love again. I thought I would never feel alive, but then I looked into his eyes and I was lost. Only this time, it was not a nightmare swallowing me, but a beautiful dream coming true.

Just when I thought there was no hope for tomorrow, my heart found a reason to beat faster…

Excerpt (Nic’s POV)

“Hey, Nic, will you close the workshop?” Dan asked a few hours later, when he was about to leave, and I was the only person still working in the room.

“Sure, no problem.”

“If Emily comes to leave the bike, tell her to leave the keys in my office.”

So he wasn’t going to wait for her? If she were his girlfriend, he surely would wait for her, right? At least, I would.

“Okay,” I said, trying to sound and seem as indifferent as possible. I still didn’t know what kind of relationship Daniel and Emily had, so I should probably hold my horses.

I didn’t have anything else to do, but I still hesitated leaving and going home. By the way, now the oldest bike ever belonged to me. It was Daniel’s gratitude for my help in saving him from the useless piece of metal that took up too much space. It looked different now. After I got my first paycheck, I bought a can of black paint and made it look like a brand new bike. I had another bike as well, a bright-red Ducati 1098. It was one of the things that I took with me when I left my parents’ house. I just couldn’t leave without it. It
was my dream come true, and the only so-called date that I had never cheated on. I didn’t ride it much recently. First, because I had a lot of work to do and not as much time for riding, and second, because I didn’t want anyone to see that I had a bike that probably costed more than they would earn in a year. Only Daniel was allowed to ride different bikes every day. But he was the boss, and I was just a guy who needed a job.

I looked at my watch and it showed half past ten at night. I was as tired as hell, so I thought that no matter how much I wanted to see Emily again, I need rest, sleep, and food more than that.

When I was about to lock the doors, I heard the sound of a bike roaring behind me. I turned around, and there she was, sitting on a yellow bike, contrasting with her black outfit. She took off the helmet, running one hand through her hair, and smiled at me.

“Sorry, I must have lost the track of time,” she said, coming over to me. “I guess Daniel is not here?”

“No, he’s not.” I kept staring at her, as if she were the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Well, maybe she was… “But he said you can leave the keys in his office.”

“Oh, okay. I hope he didn’t make you stay here to wait for me, did he?”

“Actually, I wanted to wait for you.”

Her expression darkened. “What for?” She asked in a cold voice.

“Just wanted to see you again,” I said the words before I could think twice about the huge mistake I might be making. After all, she could still be someone’s, maybe even Daniel’s girlfriend.

“Which means your mission is accomplished.” She grabbed the keys from my hands and said, “You can go home now, I will lock the doors.”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you or anything.”

“No offence taken. I just don’t like guys who think they can have any girl they want.”

“What makes you think that I’m one of them?”

She looked at me from head to toe, then crossed her arms and said, “Because you are sure that women should fall down to their feet and worship the ground to walk on. You are handsome, and I bet you know it, and use it quite often. But a nice face and good-looking ass don’t make you the almighty.”

I laughed. “Damn true, but I don’t belong to the kind of guys you’ve just described.” Or maybe I did, but she didn’t need to know that.

My Review:
From Gods (Descendant Prophecies, #1)From Gods by Mary Ting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just finished From Gods and I am freaking out! I need book 2 right now! Mary has left me on the edge of my sofa feeling like I might lose my mind. My heart is pounding out of my chest. What an ending! Wow!!

Skylar is your average young woman that goes to spend the summer with her cousin Kayla. Strange things begin to happen, for example Skylar nearly drowns at the beach from being pulled under by something unexplainable. Lucky for her, handsome and absolutely yummy Mason is there to save her, but he isn't your average good looking guy. He is a descendant of Zues and has some pretty hair raising powers. Skylar doesn't stand a chance at keeping her distance from Mason. He has the hot, bad boy vibe down to a science. Lucky for her, he keeps having to save her life from the evil creatures that are hell bent on killing her.

From Gods is an extremely exciting story filled with action, adventure, love and I cannot forget hot demigods. I was hooked the moment Mason came into the story. I love Skylar's attitude and her kindheartedness. It makes me feel for her and want everything to work out for her. Mason stole my heart. I knew right from the beginning he had felt a great deal of pain in his life and I wanted to take all the hurt away. I also really liked the other characters Kayla, Nick, Amanda and even Everett. Mary really knows how to build her characters so that you can relate to them and root for them.

An absolutely brilliant book. I am waiting anxiously for book 2. I can't wait to see what happens next for Skylar and Mason.

My Review:

From Deities (Descendant Prophecies, #2)From Deities by Mary Ting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I fell head over heals for Mason, Sky and their group of friends in From Gods. I was so excited to get to read more in From Deities and let me tell you this book took my breath away. The romance between Mason and Sky is so heart warming and adds so much to the story. Add to that some new characters and lots of action and you are in for the ride of your life. I loved every second of it.

Sky has developed new powers and discovered a prophecy that may change everything for her and her friends. She will need Mason and his love to give her strength to survive all that lies ahead. "Love can destroy and love can heal. It's what you decide to do with it that determines the path."

I really enjoyed that we had a chance to get to know the secondary characters like Nick and Amanda better in From Deities. I felt an attachment to these characters as well as Mason and Sky. My heart ached and tears were shed at some of the surprising turns in this awesome story. I may have screamed at my kindle a little too when I got to the insane cliffhanger. I desperately need to know what happens next!

"Good always won. I had to tell myself that, because that was my only hope."

Beautifully Used Blog Tour and Review

BEAUTIFULLY USED
Author: Susan Griscom
Genre: Contemporary Romance 18+ due to adult situations
Series: Beaumont Brothers, Book 2 ~ Standalone
 ~ SYNOPSIS ~
Suave, handsome Brodie Beaumont has a history of using and being used by women. Playing bass in his brother's band doesn't hurt. A past he doesn't like to talk about has turned him into the type of guy he is today, but he hasn't really cared. Until the beautiful and feisty Gabrielle Demeres comes back into his life.

Gabrielle learned the hard way what type of guy Brodie was the first time she met him. His crude seduction attempt earned him a slap to his face, and Gabrielle wasn't exactly looking forward to another encounter with the cad. Unfortunately, her best friend was marrying Brodie's brother, and Gabrielle and Brodie would be forced to spend time together whether she liked it or not.

As things in the small, quiet town of Turtle Lake take a decidedly dark and dangerous turn, Gabrielle and Brodie only have each other to turn to. Will they be capable of overcoming their aversion to one another while coping with their own troubled pasts and dealing with the current dangers surrounding them? Or is their hostility just skating the fine line between love and hate?

~My Review~
I really enjoyed Beautifully Wounded the first book in The Beaumont Brother's series, but I absolutely LOVED Beautifully Used. Brodie made this book for me. I found his sexy playboy side to be exciting and just yummy, but when he started to open up and share what made him this way I couldn't help but fall head over heals for him.

Gabrielle comes to town for her best friend Lena's wedding. Lena's soon to be brother in law,Brodie is the last person she wants to be stuck spending time with. The last time she had seen him, he came on to her and she ended up smacking him. Even though she enjoyed the kiss a bit, she couldn't stand that he showed such lack of respect and tried to grope her after only knowing her a few hours.

There is so much more to this story and I don't want to give any of the surprises away, but I can say that a series of events happen and Brodie is the only person that Gabrielle can turn to. Is he still the promiscuous guy that grabbed her, or can she trust him to keep her safe?

Sensual scenes, mystery and suspense, everything you need and want in a romance novel. Another great book by author Susan Griscom. Definitely a must read series!

*Can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading both books as they are fabulous together!
~ EXCERPT ~

The house was quiet when I came home. Gabrielle must have set the three-tiered floor lamp in the corner of the living room on the lowest setting, which gave the room a soft romantic ambiance. I almost wished I had someone to enjoy it with. It was still early, not quite pasteight o’clock. I wondered if Gabrielle was still up. This was the first night in about two weeks that I’d stayed at the bar past six. I’d been covering most of the day shifts so I could be home at night, and had hired another guy to help fill in some of the shifts that Derrick and I juggled. Jackson even came and worked for a few hours on the nights Lena waited tables and the nights before the band started playing. I didn’t like the idea of Gabrielle being in the house alone at night. The evenings that the band played, Gabrielle came in to listen and was invited up to sing with us several times by Jackson. Gabrielle and Lena had a great harmony going on that the crowd went ape-shit over every time they sang together. I had to admit, their sound was unique, and I enjoyed playing with the band those nights more than the usual.

The house seemed unusually quiet. I wanted to call out to her, then considered that she might be sleeping and that it would be rude of me to wake her. I peeked in the kitchen, but she wasn’t there. Hunger pangs tugged at my stomach, but I needed a shower first, so I walked quietly down the hall toward my room. Passing hers on the way, I glanced in since her door was open. There she was, sitting, head bent over her laptop as her fingers flew over the keys, her long brown hair pulled back into a long ponytail that draped over her right shoulder and kissed the top of her bare thigh. She wore a t-shirt covering a small portion of that thigh, but it looked to me like the t-shirt was the only thing she had on. “Hey,” I said.

She looked up at me and smiled, oblivious to the fact that she was sitting there looking so sexy and tantalizing. I had a hard time keeping myself planted in the door jamb instead of pouncing onto the bed and pulling her into a long seductive kiss. Any red-blooded male would have. God, this woman drove me nuts. How would I ever survive this arrangement?

“Hi. You worked late. Did you have a chance to eat dinner?” Her melodious words jarred me from my intemperate, seductive thoughts.

“Uh … no. You?”

“No. I waited. I’ve been craving sushi and hoped I could convince you to do take out.”

I fished my phone out of my pocket and looked at the white neon 8:12 on the display. It’s kind of late. We could call and see if they’ll still deliver this late. I searched through my contacts and located the local sushi restaurant, well, the only sushi restaurant. Lucky for us, they delivered. Even luckier, they were still open for business. “Hold on just a sec,” I said into the phone and handed it to her. “Here, order whatever you want.” I pulled out my wallet, snatching out my credit card and handing it to her. “I like everything, but make sure to add in some spicy stuff. I’m gonna hop in the shower. See if they’ll deliver a bottle of saké too. Something dry and bold. We have some celebrating to do.” I turned quickly before she could ask me anything, leaving her with the phone, and headed to my room. I wanted to yell back and tell her to put some clothes on, but thought better of it. She probably had short shorts on that I couldn’t see. Gabrielle wasn’t the type to sit around in her underwear with her door open.

****
Hot water flowed over my head and I closed my eyes, but all I saw was flesh; the silky flesh of Gabrielle’s thighs. As I spread the soap over my chest and stomach, I grabbed my already stiff cock in my hand, realizing I should have made it a cold shower. When was the last time I’d gotten laid? And why had it been so long? Women usually didn’t affect me the way Gabrielle did. The desire to be with her grew stronger every day, and I didn’t think she hated me anymore. God she was beautiful. Sexy too, sitting there over her laptop. I wondered what she was typing. A scene from her book, no doubt. Was it a sex scene? Did she even write those? What kind of sex scene would Gabrielle write? I thought of Gabrielle typing a scene about a fourteenth-century warrior from the Scottish Highlands taking pleasure in the damsel he’s just rescued. I closed my eyes, becoming that warrior as Gabrielle’s lips grazed over my stomach, tantalizing me with the tip of her tongue going lower and lower until she licked the tip of my cock. The smooth texture of her tongue gliding over me was almost too much to bear. She shifted her position and climbed on top of me, urgently guiding me. I held on tightly as she sat on top of me gyrating her hips, taking me in as deep as I would go until I could feel the wall of her cervix against my tip, in and out, until she called out my name. I must have been pumping unconsciously as my release had me falling back against the cold shower wall. I opened my eyes to find cum all over the shower door. “Shit.”

~ ABOUT THE AUTHOR ~
Susan Griscom

I daydream often. If I didn't write, I think my mind would explode from an overload of fantasy and weirdness. To the annoyance of my friends and family, my characters sometimes become a part of my world. During my childhood, I would frequently get in trouble in school for daydreaming. Eventually, my vivid imagination paid off and I had the privilege of writing and co-directing my sixth-grade class play--a dreadful disaster; though not from my writing, of course, I must blame it on the acting.
The craft of writing, although dormant for years, never really left me. Many years later, and with the help of technology, I let my imagination run wild again.

Born in a small town in Pennsylvania, I enjoy writing about characters living in small quaint towns. I tend to lean toward the unusual and spooky. I read all genres but I love reading paranormal romance and like writing in that genre.

My paranormal playing field delves into a different milieu, abandoning vampires and werewolves, but not discounting them. Someday I might like to write a novel about vamps and those furry creatures. But for now I like the bizarre mixed with romance. A strong hero or heroine confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and capabilities gets my blood running.

I live in Northern California with my very romantic husband, my small yippy dog, Riley, and my humungous black cat, Saké. My family consists of his and her children; four wonderful sons, one beautiful daughter, and seven grandchildren. My greatest love in life is my family and those large and ever growing holiday dinners.

I enjoy traveling. I hate running, but do it once in a while. Reading and writing are my favorite pastimes.
