Jenifer Taylor is content with her life, dull and boring as it is. She’s happy being alone, sharing her life with her friends and family.

When Jeni starts a typical day in the big city of Mornington Vale, California, it turns from bad to worse when she’s involved in a chain collision on her way to work.

Her world changes forever that day because she meets Aiden O’Connell, the billionaire son of Alistair O’Connell, who owns Mornington Vale’s largest financial corporation. Aiden is an up-and-coming young businessman who's ready to take on the vice presidency of his father’s company. He is the good son, and it’s imperative to Alistair that Aiden succeed and follow in his footsteps. Life for Aiden involves working hard and not much else.

After the accident, however, Aiden’s world changes as well. He finds Jeni irresistible and instantly pursues her. With some coaxing, she eventually agrees to a date, and the attraction is mutual.

Jeni finds love quickly with Aiden, but trusting him is another issue. When to trust is tested in many different ways but comes to a head when Aiden is investigated for a serious crime. As her trust issues spark, she is forced to go through a journey of self-discovery.

She must decide once and for all whether she trusts the man she loves when she’s asked the ultimate question: “Do you trust me?”

This is book one in a series of three. Book two "Love Me?" was released on November 18th, 2013.
Short Excerpt Trust Me?

I turn to face him; he puts his other arm around me. We are in the same position as before when the last kiss attempt failed. My arms are tight around his neck, his arms around my waist. I look down. He lifts up my chin so I’m lost in his gaze. His hand goes back to my waist. He swallows; I think he’s as nervous as I am. He tilts his head and leans in … I back away quickly.

“What’s wrong?” he asks, looking hurt.

“Oh, no, it’s not you. I think … I might have garlic breath.”

He laughs and pulls me back to him. “So do I.” He pulls me in tighter, and before I know what’s happening, his lips are on mine. I give in and surrender to him completely.

This feels like one of my fantasies, only way, way better. He holds me tight as one hand moves from my waist to caress my cheek, kissing me softly but sensually. My hands move to the back of his head, and I grab a lock of hair in each hand. He moves our bodies so that I’m against the railing at the edge of the deck. He moves his hand from my waist to hold the rail as I still grasp his hair. The kissing becomes feverishly passionate; his tongue against mine as they intertwine with each other. Our breathing becomes faster and erratic. Our kissing becomes more intimate. We are in perfect sync with each other. I pull him closer to me, our whole bodies touching. My heart is pounding fast and hard. His hand moves from my face to the back of my head, pulling me tight. He moves my hair from the side of my neck, breaks our kiss and kisses my neck slowly and seductively. I sigh and breathe in a stuttering motion. I open my eyes to see the waitress standing there, gawking at us. I stiffen as I see her. He pulls back and looks at me. With my eyes, I gesture toward the waitress. He turns, looks, and lets out a little huff. He leans in towards me.

“Now that’s a first kiss,” he whispers as he grabs my hand and leads me over to the table. I can’t help but smile.

Book 2:  Love me?
Book Description:
This book is for mature audiences 18+ It contains explicit language and sexual content.

In the first book of The Trust Me? Trilogy, Jeni Taylor finds the love of her life, but as the second book begins, she finds herself lost without Aiden O’Connell, who’s been wrongly convicted of embezzlement charges and incarcerated. She must find the strength within to help prove he’s innocent while dealing with other issues. Aiden’s father, Alistair, still taunts her, making life between Jeni and Aiden more difficult, and an unexpected visitor enters their lives, creating havoc and turning it upside down. Jeni’s trust issues return in a major way after an incident leaves her fragile and broken. Aiden and Jeni find themselves going through more trials and tribulations than ever before in this second installment of the Trust Me? Trilogy. In the end, Jeni will be asked the ultimate question: Do you still love me?

Short Excerpt Love Me?

My nerves start to get the better of me, I start to feel nauseous; those darn pesky butterflies attack again. I’m not sure why I’m nervous, whether it’s the shoes making me unstable or whether it’s the memory of our first date, our first touch, or our first kiss that’s making me bashful.

I turn the corner to see him standing there with a bunch of red roses, in the suit that he changed into earlier, this time with a baby pink tie on. Behind him is that gorgeous waterfall cascading down the cliff with the lush greenery surrounding us. As I take a step closer, I hear music playing. “Thank You for Loving Me” by Bon Jovi. It’s our song. I feel my eyes welling up as all the emotion and love I feel for this man is becoming too much to bear.

His smile is beaming from ear to ear when I approach. Finally I reach him. He holds out his hand for me to take. I take it, and he pulls me into a tight embrace.
“This is perfect,” I whisper.
“Perfection for perfection, my love.” He kisses my cheek, and places the bouquet of flowers on the railing.

Review: Capital Girls- Ella Monroe

Summary: CAPITAL GIRLS by Ella Monroe is the first book in a glitzy, fast-paced, fabulous new young adult series set against the backdrop of Washington, D.C. In it, we meet four young women, best friends forever, who must navigate life as the children of some of the most powerful people in the nation. With that life comes not only awesome vacations, beautiful clothes and A-list parties, but also scandal, heartache, danger and the ever-present paparazzi who seem to have a knack for catching them when they're up to something bad! Title: Capital Girls Author: Ella Monroe Pages: 304 Rating: 4/5 Stars Review: I received this book free from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review. I love this book cover! It's so colourful and fun. I also really enjoyed the premise of the book and it drew me in right from the get go. I liked how the author incorporated the multiple POV's and also the flashbacks into the story. I got through this novel in a matter of hours and when I was finished I needed more so I went on line and bought book two and three so I can continue the series. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later lol. Plus the story ended right at a juicy part. I liked the three main characters and how their lives and how their lives revolved around their dead friend. Everything they did in their lives went back to "What would TAylor think or what would TAylor do?" I must say that I disliked LauraBeth the least, even before anything happened, I just feel like she is super fake. Lettie was the most real character because she wasn't rich and she had to work for everything she had so she didn't just piss it away or not care. I did feel for her because I don't imagine it was easy to always be trying to fit in with her friends and live up to everyone's standards. Jackie was okay, I didn't agree with some of her actions but who knows what will happen now. Whitney is the girl you love to hate. I love her because she creates drama but I hate her because she creates drama, if that makes any sense. Plus I feel like she is being treated both fair and unfairly. Like I said previously, I will be continuing on with this series sometime hopefully in the near future. I find it a really quick and fun read and I can't wait to see what happens after that bomb was dropped. I would recommend this to those looking for an easy to read contemporary with lots of drama.

Review: Lightpoints- Peter Kassen

Summary: What if you suddenly discovered you had a sense-and powers-that almost no one else in the world did? When Amanda Lindner Nichols, a 24-year-old graphic artist living with her husband in Queens, New York, is revived from a near-death experience, she discovers she perceives everyone around her as points of light-but not with her eyes. She soon learns she can not only perceive the life energy of others, but she can give and take it. With the help of others like her, she brings her husband Chris to the brink of death and back to bestow on him the same remarkable faculty, and they're the happiest they've been. But not for long. All over the world, people who've been revived from their own near-death experience at just the right moment discover themselves with these same unusual powers. They find ways to use them-some for good and some for evil. When Amanda and Chris encounter a ruthless group of gangsters with the same faculty, tragedy follows-and Amanda faces the greatest challenge of her life. Title: Lightpoints Author: Peter Kassen Pages: 208 Rating: 3/5 Stars Review: I received the book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I thought that the idea of this book was really cool dealing with NDE's (near death experiences) and OBE's (out of body experiences), but the story fell a little flat for me. This was a quick read but it wasn't as interesting or detailed as i would have liked. The varying POV's sometimes confused me, especially when the character would have their own chapter and then we never hear about them again. Also the ending was way to opened ended, will there be another book? Or is this the end? Amanda was my favourite character just because she was a genuine person and didn't let her power go to her head. Hopefully what happened at the end of the book will be the last of her using hers gift against others. Chris was weird to me, I didn't feel any love coming from him for Amanda and I found him to be selfish. I also would have liked more information on Lisa, she is quite the mystery.  This was an okay book. I'm not sure if I would read another from this author. I don't really know how to describe this novel, paranormal or contemporary with a hint of paranormal haha. Like really.... Who is to say that this isn't true???

Review: Persephone- Lavender Youko

Summary: Stockholm Syndrome. A psychological condition that causes a person to feel understanding, even affection, towards their captor or abuser. It's deadly in the sense that the person feeling the symptoms will not perceive it in the slightest. It has caused hostages to hold guns to their heads and pull the trigger as a test of their faith without being told that the gun is completely unloaded.

Equally deadly in the same fashion is Lima Syndrome, which is the identical yet opposite mental state where the one in the act of imprisoning begins to sympathize with the very person they are holding prisoner. It goes deeper than merely feeling sorry for them – it can even turn into emotions of love and compassion, even though they are the ones causing the trauma.

I don't know what my name is anymore. But he called me Persephone.

Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Firstly I just want to say that this book tricked me because I thought it was going to be about Greek mythology but I was wrong. Although I did enjoy the similarities between the two. I do wish that there would have been two POV's because I would have loved to get inside August's head and have gotten even more background information on him. This book drew me in right from the beginning and held my attention until the very end. It was a quick read and I got through it in good time but I wish there would have been more of an ending. I want to know where everyone ended up.
*SPOILER ALERT*
At the start I was mad at Persephone for not fighting back against August, but then he began to grow on me. And this may sound rude but her life was way better with him anyways, I don't want to downplay the whole crazy situation but she had chances to leave and she didn't. She was happier with him. And I don't believe that she had Munchausen's either, she knew what happened wasn't right but her love outweighed the bad feelings. I also kind of grew to like Marcel, I'm glad that he was there to support Elaine during her time of need.
Overall this was a great read and I want more of these characters and their stories. I would recommend this story to those who enjoy romantic, suspense stories. I can't wait to read my by this author.

Review: The Old Arbutus Tree- Leigh Matthews

Summary: Stuck in a small town in Alberta, Rose misses her father and watches in horror as a local widower wins over both her mother and sister. She finds solace in a fellow nerd, Jason, but when her sister, Sara, is violently assaulted Rose must decide whether to stick to the town's story or find the strength to help a friend. Exploring the vulnerability of difference in a closed community, The Old Arbutus Tree is a story of discovery, empathy and learning how and who to trust. It lays bare the common confusion of adolescent sexual identity and the devastating effects of a small town's prejudice. When power, privilege and access conspire against justice, Rose and Jason are forced to see how desire is policed by our peers, our town, and the wider judicial and medical establishments. Can they help each other recognise real love, in whatever form it comes, and give themselves permission to accept it? Detailing the events leading up to an unknown gunman opening fire in the town of Pitcher Creek, The Old Arbutus Tree forces us to consider how violence begets violence and how we can break free of this cycle. Is sexual difference really something to fear? How did government-sanctioned institutions in 1980s Canada fail young men as they discovered love for the first time, with each other? Does tragedy need to hit a whole community, not just a single family, before someone speaks up for those without a voice?

Review: I received this book from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review.
This might sounds bad, but I only entered to win this book because it takes place in Alberta where I am from. I did really enjoy this story, it's about love, loss and everything in between. I also liked that it dealt with darker issues. You don't get too many books that deal with death, rape and suicide all wrapped into one read, but this one had them all and I loved it. I like how the author kind of gave hints as to what would be happening next without coming right out and telling you. I also enjoyed the different POV's and the journal entires. I love how easy it was to connect to the main character Rose. She had always lived in her "perfect", older sisters shadow. I didn't like how they were just over a year apart but Rose was treated like a baby regardless. I also found her to be a bit naive and a coward. If I had been in her shoes I would have made sure the right person had been punished for the said crimes. I was very disappointed in Sara, Rose's sister for not telling the truth and letting the charade go on as long as it had. I also felt bad for poor Jason, he didn't deserve that but at least he met someone.  What I really need to know is if there is a book two. I feel like the book was left off to go either way, to be a standalone or merge into a series. I look forward to more books by Leigh Matthews. I would recommend this novel to those who enjoy contemporaries on the darker side.

Q & A with Author Ella James

Let's welcome Author Ella James!  I was lucky enough to meet her in Nashville last year, but I am looking forward to seeing her again at Queen City Indie Con.  She has a few new books I want to get my hands on.  Anyways, on with the show!  Giveaway at the end!!

1.What inspired you to be a writer?
It was pretty much the only thing I did well when I was younger, and I was an obsessive reader, so the ideal outcome seemed to be writing my own stories. I didn't think I could do that until I was "older," though, so I went to college with other plans, thinking I would write novels when I was "older," and I didn't pursue it seriously until my other plans (writing for newspapers) turned out to yield very little income.
2. Who has been your biggest influence in your writing?
I would have to say my husband, who is also a writer. We met in college and we've always worked together, and we've always pushed each other to try new things. It was his idea for me to put an ebook up on Amazon. I thought the idea was ridiculous at the time.
3. Of all your books, which is your favorite and why?
Actually...my favorite (by far!) is a book I'm working on for my agent. It might get sold to a traditional publisher...or it might not. You will see it at some point. I just love it. It's called January's Wilderness. It's a blend of NA romantic suspense and something else. I'm not sure what the something else is. It's really dark, but also sweet. I'm working on it now and the heroine kicks so much a$.
4. What advice would you give to someone thinking of writing a book?
If you think about writing a book, you never will, so just write it. The only way to write a book is to write a book. You will never know enough, or be old enough, or be good enough. You just have to do it. With each book, you get better.
5. What is your next project?
I'm working right now on January's Wilderness and Unmaking Marchant, one of my Love Inc. novels. After that, I'm finishing the tail end of Trapped (Here book 2), and possibly putting out something called Over The Moon, which is the first in a seven-book NA series about guys and girls in an Illuminati-like secret society.
6. If you could have 1 wish granted, what would it be?
Aw, this question always gets me, because I will never be able to give a funny or lighthearted answer. My two-year-old son has a chronic medical condition, and getting rid of that for him is always my one wish.
 7. If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
I would be able to clone multiple versions of myself. They would all write books at once, and I would be able to put out a book a month as well as devote MY time (so me, not my clones) to raising my kids and spending lots of quality time with my husband.
8. What would your super hero name be?
Super Ella? LOL. I'm not sure, but I do know my stripper name is Cinnamon Dalon. Does that count?
LOL  I think that counts.  Thank you so much for taking the time to answer a few questions for me.  I look forward to seeing you again in Cincinnati!!

Selling Scarlett (Love Inc. Book 1)
Elizabeth DeVille doesn't belong at a party like this - one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago.

Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and professional poker player by day, by night Hunter is gambling with his life in a high-stakes game of crime and blackmail.

When Elizabeth stumbles into Hunter's den of vices, she's a light in the darkness, a flame in the void. And, just like everything he touches, Hunter mars her in a record time. To rectify the damage done, Elizabeth needs money she doesn't have, and she's come up with a foolproof way to get it.

Follow Elizabeth - code-named Scarlett - to the lush Nevada brothel where she'll auction her virginity and risk the only thing that's not for sale: her heart. The highest bidder is a familiar face, with wicked hands and the devil's mouth. And a secret so dark that it could cost her life

Taming Cross (Love Inc. Book 2)
For twenty-three years, Cross Carlson was a playboy. You know the type. Tall, dark, and wealthy. Blue-eyed. Charming. He seemed to have it all so easy. But Cross was harboring a terrible secret - one that helped ruin the life of an innocent girl and almost ended his own.

Finally out of the hospital, Cross is flailing, scarred in both body and mind and stifled by the weight of the secret he still keeps. The only way to absolution lies in a Mexican convent, and going there could cost him everything.

If there's anyone who knows what it's like to screw up big time, it's Meredith Kinsey. Just a few years ago, Merri was an ordinary girl with a job at her college newspaper and white picket fence kind of dreams. Now she's holed up in a Mexican convent, hiding from a drug lord who thinks he owns her.

What happens when the only way out of hell is with the son of the man who put you there? They say love conquers all, but does it really?

Author: Heather Van Fleet
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Release Day: November 12th, 2013 Publisher: Sunshine Press

Blurb: Abigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be precise; and she has absolutely no idea how to go about fixing it. For years now, she has been chasing her best friend’s brother—demanding things from him that he’s never wanted to give. For one? A real relationship that surpasses well beyond that dreaded ‘just friends’ zone. You see, David Anderson is her idea of perfection to a T. The one and only guy who has ever had the ability to make her heart beat faster; make her toes curl with the simple blink of his long, girly lashes. But David is also a recovering amputee, and the only thing he really wants from Abigail is to be left alone. Abigail is a fighter though, and losing the one guy who has ruined her for every other is no longer an option. A guy with one leg who has lost his motivation to live—to love—to actually be a man. David believes he’s a waste of space. If only the beautiful girl of his unattainable dreams would get that through her perfect, blonde, stubborn head! He’s not the right guy for Abigail. He’ll never be worthy of what she deserves. However, staying away is almost impossible, especially when he’s just as in love with her as she is with him. But Abigail has a life ahead of her, one that’s definitely livable without a nineteen–year–old gimp like him holding her down. What makes her want to stick around is beyond questionable to David’s mind. Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. And together, they will face challenges that nobody saw coming. David and Abigail may have had almost fourteen years to fall in love, but the thing is, timing and love have never exactly worked in their favor. It has been years in the making, and definitely A Long Time Coming for David and Abigail. Let’s hope they don’t screw it up before they actually have the chance to get it right… Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18365239-a-long-time-coming Book Trailer: Link: http://youtu.be/0LZn9p2uZnA Embedded Code: Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18365239-a-long-time-coming
Excerpt:
She spun around, nibbling on her lip, grabbing both of his hands as she pulled him slowly along with her. Her eyes were so focused and shiny that he barely remembered his own name, let alone what he was about to say.
“No crutches, David.”
They made it to the edge of the floor, just as the tempo of the music slowed, to that of a seductive, rhythmic beat. She pulled his hands towards her, and he took that non–verbal command, wrapping his arms around her waist. His fingers knew just what to do, settling into the curves of her body right above her perfect ass. Those damn traitorous body parts had a mind of their own.
“I won’t let you fall…” she whispered in his ear, running her fingers through the back of his hair like a vixen who he wanted to steal away forever, only, though, so he could lock her up with him in the backseat of her car again.
Shit …it wasn’t the fear of falling that worried him. Oh no…it was the fear of never wanting to let her go again.

BLURB

Working for the FBI certainly isn’t a “normal” job, but Special Agent Julie Ann Davidson has never encountered a case as personal as this one. Although not officially assigned to the case, Ann and her partner, Patrick Duncan, take up the cause of finding Rachel, Jason, and Emily Collins. As if that task wasn’t enough, Ann and Patrick also have a baffling case of internet thievery to investigate.

Who is Christopher Collins and what about his past is endangering his family? Where are Rachel and the kids being held? Where is God in the midst of chaos? Will Ann and Patrick arrive in time or will they find only pain?

 EXCERPT

Rachel Collins had a perfect life. She loved her job as a medical doctor at a small, private practice in Pennsylvania. Her husband—Dr. Christopher Collins—was easy on the eyes and wonderful in every way that mattered. Their two young children brought much joy—and good-natured chaos—into their lives. God had certainly blessed them as a family. At least, she thought so anyway. Though he never put down her religion, Chris never promised to believe a word of it either.

Thank you for being good to us, Father, Rachel thought, tilting her head to the side and watching her husband crawl around on the floor with the children. She only wished that nights like this weren’t so rare. She kept fairly regular hours, but Chris worked at Millcreek Community Hospital, so his schedule had to be a little more flexible.

Sandy probably gets to see the kids more than we do, Rachel mused bleakly, thinking of the girl she hired to watch the kids while she worked. Tonight, Chris had persuaded a friend to switch shifts so he could spend time at home with the family.

What did you use to bribe him, Chris?

“No, Emily. Not yours,” said Jason, green eyes ablaze to make his point.

Rachel smiled, amused by the strained patience in her five-year-old son’s tone as he addressed his little sister.

“I have?” asked Emily, tears welling up in her warm brown eyes. The child’s bottom lip stuck out, and she shoved a finger into her mouth. Her brother grunted irritably but let her keep the building block clutched in her chubby right hand.

It amused Rachel that Emily, at the ripe old age of three, could manipulate her brother so well.

You’ll break hearts when you’re older, Emily Adele Collins.

About the Author
Julie mainly confines her writing to three genres: Christian inspirational, YA real-world science fiction, and normal science fiction.

She likes teaching, writing, reading, sleeping, doing puzzles, and hanging out with friends. (Not necessarily in that order)

Writing has made her super picky about the things she reads but normally, her reading list includes something that fits under the thriller, mystery, science fiction, or fantasy.

Occasionally, she attempts short poetry. The poems turn into songs, which she sings with abandon when nobody's looking.

Expert:
We walked inside the restaurant of the very small Angelo’s. It was busy because it was a Saturday night. The walls were painted a very dark red and each table was outfitted with a matching red table cloth with a lit candle sitting on top of it.
“Very romantic, Mr. Mitchell.”
“I try my best, Miss Scott.” The waitress walked over and took us to a very small, quiet booth in the back of the restaurant. When we reached it there were a dozen white roses sitting there. I was confused, had he planned this?
“Drake, you have already given me flowers. This is too much.”
“I can never give you enough. I want to give you the world. Do you know what the white rose signifies?” He pulled me down into the booth with him.
“I don’t, but they are just as beautiful as the red ones you gave me.”
“The white rose signifies purity and innocence. The red rose signifies love, beauty, courage, and respect. And together they signify unity. Baby, you are those things to me. You are my heart.” He kissed the back of my hand. “You are as pure as the driven snow.” He kissed it again. “And you are as beautiful as an angel descending from heaven.” Drake’s eyes danced with hope and love. I could see that he truly loved me. Where did this man come from? Tears were beginning to form in my eyes.
“And together,” he pulled out a single white rose and a single red one and laced the stems together. “We are strong. We can’t be broken.” By the time he finished I was a blubbering fool. I was so happy in that exact moment.
“I love you with all my heart,” he whispered lovingly.  I closed my eyes and savored his every word. I hadn’t ever known love like this. I never wanted to let it go.
“Baby, you ok?”
“Yes. I love you so much. I can’t believe you did this. My makeup is probably running.” I wiped the tears from my eyes. Who knows what I look like right now, but I couldn’t help it. This was just all too wonderful not to cry.
