Q & A with Author Ella James

Let's welcome Author Ella James!  I was lucky enough to meet her in Nashville last year, but I am looking forward to seeing her again at Queen City Indie Con.  She has a few new books I want to get my hands on.  Anyways, on with the show!  Giveaway at the end!!

1.What inspired you to be a writer?
It was pretty much the only thing I did well when I was younger, and I was an obsessive reader, so the ideal outcome seemed to be writing my own stories. I didn't think I could do that until I was "older," though, so I went to college with other plans, thinking I would write novels when I was "older," and I didn't pursue it seriously until my other plans (writing for newspapers) turned out to yield very little income.
2. Who has been your biggest influence in your writing?
I would have to say my husband, who is also a writer. We met in college and we've always worked together, and we've always pushed each other to try new things. It was his idea for me to put an ebook up on Amazon. I thought the idea was ridiculous at the time.
3. Of all your books, which is your favorite and why?
Actually...my favorite (by far!) is a book I'm working on for my agent. It might get sold to a traditional publisher...or it might not. You will see it at some point. I just love it. It's called January's Wilderness. It's a blend of NA romantic suspense and something else. I'm not sure what the something else is. It's really dark, but also sweet. I'm working on it now and the heroine kicks so much a$.
4. What advice would you give to someone thinking of writing a book?
If you think about writing a book, you never will, so just write it. The only way to write a book is to write a book. You will never know enough, or be old enough, or be good enough. You just have to do it. With each book, you get better.
5. What is your next project?
I'm working right now on January's Wilderness and Unmaking Marchant, one of my Love Inc. novels. After that, I'm finishing the tail end of Trapped (Here book 2), and possibly putting out something called Over The Moon, which is the first in a seven-book NA series about guys and girls in an Illuminati-like secret society.
6. If you could have 1 wish granted, what would it be?
Aw, this question always gets me, because I will never be able to give a funny or lighthearted answer. My two-year-old son has a chronic medical condition, and getting rid of that for him is always my one wish.
 7. If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
I would be able to clone multiple versions of myself. They would all write books at once, and I would be able to put out a book a month as well as devote MY time (so me, not my clones) to raising my kids and spending lots of quality time with my husband.
8. What would your super hero name be?
Super Ella? LOL. I'm not sure, but I do know my stripper name is Cinnamon Dalon. Does that count?
LOL  I think that counts.  Thank you so much for taking the time to answer a few questions for me.  I look forward to seeing you again in Cincinnati!!

Selling Scarlett (Love Inc. Book 1)
Elizabeth DeVille doesn't belong at a party like this - one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago.

Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and professional poker player by day, by night Hunter is gambling with his life in a high-stakes game of crime and blackmail.

When Elizabeth stumbles into Hunter's den of vices, she's a light in the darkness, a flame in the void. And, just like everything he touches, Hunter mars her in a record time. To rectify the damage done, Elizabeth needs money she doesn't have, and she's come up with a foolproof way to get it.

Follow Elizabeth - code-named Scarlett - to the lush Nevada brothel where she'll auction her virginity and risk the only thing that's not for sale: her heart. The highest bidder is a familiar face, with wicked hands and the devil's mouth. And a secret so dark that it could cost her life

Taming Cross (Love Inc. Book 2)
For twenty-three years, Cross Carlson was a playboy. You know the type. Tall, dark, and wealthy. Blue-eyed. Charming. He seemed to have it all so easy. But Cross was harboring a terrible secret - one that helped ruin the life of an innocent girl and almost ended his own.

Finally out of the hospital, Cross is flailing, scarred in both body and mind and stifled by the weight of the secret he still keeps. The only way to absolution lies in a Mexican convent, and going there could cost him everything.

If there's anyone who knows what it's like to screw up big time, it's Meredith Kinsey. Just a few years ago, Merri was an ordinary girl with a job at her college newspaper and white picket fence kind of dreams. Now she's holed up in a Mexican convent, hiding from a drug lord who thinks he owns her.

What happens when the only way out of hell is with the son of the man who put you there? They say love conquers all, but does it really?
