Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the Sweet Series by Bailey Ardisone that I have had the pleasure of both reading and reviewing. This was a pretty quick read despite having a few slow areas. Sweet Escape was filled to the brim with with action and fighting, there was so much that there is no way that Bailey Ardisone could have added anymore. The book also contained a hint of romance but it was countered with all of the adventur. I loved getting to know more about both sides and all about the different creatures that exist in the fae world.
I still had the same issues with the characters in this instalment as the first. Both of the main girls and main guys names were so similar that I was forever mixing them up. I also found it confusing when the characters nicknames were used because I kept thinking they were a new character. In saying that, I did enjoy the multiple POV's and I think that besides a few times that it became confusing, it flowed between the POV's rather smoothly. I did enjoy the romance between the different characters and I can't wait to see where their relationships lead.
I really do love the author's idea of switching the POV's, not only between characters but between worlds as well. Also it is a new take on Fae and their kingdoms. I will continue on with this series because it is original and interesting. Plus I need to know where these blossoming relationships will end up. I would recommend this book to those who love fantasy and those who love stories about the Fae.
Excerpt: ~Nari~ I pushed him back against the wall by his taut chest, never disconnecting my lips from his, and kissed him like I was starving for this one thing. Starving for him. And I so was. I couldn’t breathe, and I didn’t care. There was nothing else in this world but him and me, and I soaked it up like a dry sponge. He nipped my lip at the same time his hand savored the bare skin at the small of my back under my shirt. It sent a rush of blood to every nook and corner of my body, giving me a euphoric high. I pressed myself further against him, but it wasn’t enough. And I knew he felt the same when he slid his hands over my backside down to the inside of my thighs, picking me up off the ground. I instinctively wrapped my legs around his waist and let him lay me down along the cold, hard rock below. I wanted him. So badly, I wanted him. Desire pooled in my gut, just for him. And I could feel he wanted me just as badly. I grinned against his hot lips and suppressed a giggle—knowing the others were just an earshot away.
