Review: Soul Survivor by Michelle N. Files

Title: Soul Survivor
Author: Michelle N. Files
Series: Hybrid Chronicles #1
Pages: 342
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Summary: Hailee Mai Hart is just a simple, normal girl. Or so she thought. When she left her one-horse town for a college education in the big city, she never could've imagined what awaited her. She's quickly thrown into a world filled with angels, danger, and a curse…her curse. Come to find out, she's not so simple after all. She's actually the last of her kind, and the fate of the world rests on her shoulders. She has one chance to save Earth, and it all comes down to one choice: Light or Darkness. What is right and what is wrong is all a matter of perspective, which leaves her heart dangerously tangled. No matter which path she takes people will die, and that's just not an option. Will she be able to save everyone, or will she be the Soul Survivor?
Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. When the author contacted me to read this book I was bad and said yes, based on the cover alone. If I would have known it was about angels, I may have changed my mind. Soul Survivor wasn't a bad book, angles just aren't one of my favourite things. Even though this was a shorter book, it did take me a bit to get through.  I did enjoy the characters. I felt bad for Hailee at first because she was kept in the dark and then given this crazy choice. Later on I admired her for what she was doing and trying to do. I would choose Seth over Alez any day, I got this weird vibe from him and I honestly though that there was going to be a crazy twist and he would be the villain.  I would recommend this novel to angel lovers.

About this author

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of West Virginia and yes we wear shoes and typically have most of our teeth. ;) I've graduated twice from Shepherd University--first with a double major in Business Admin & Accounting and recently with my MBA in Accounting. I'm also certified public accountant, which is how I pay the bills. While my first passion is numbers, not long into adulthood, I rediscovered my love of books and with it the joy and fulfillment of writing my own stories. Writing has become a distinct and intimate part of who I am, it's a magnificent place where anything can happen. A good story can be such an inspiration, I only hope that I can inspire and bring joy to others with my stories, the way other authors have done for me.
